Our beautiful Grandmother moon celebrates her last full moon phase of the year this Wednesday, December 7th. Winter has arrived with its encouragement to rest, to reflect, and to dream a new dream.
An important step along a curandera/o/x’s journey is reflecting upon one’s life. As a part of this spiritual practice, we also actively engage in the gathering and reclaiming of the energy one leaves behind along our travels and during interactions with family, friends, lovers, and persons whom we see as not-friends. This includes sexual relationships, casual ones, as well as long-term ones. Taking this further, make a list of everyone with whom you have ever exchanged energy, including sex. Then compassionately return to them any energy you may have taken and are still carrying. When you are complete, burn the list with prayer. We reset our emotions and spirit to neutral, so we can act and react with clarity and purpose.
It is important to contemplate upon what has transpired in the past month or year. Did you take loving care of your body, mind, and spirit? Were you kind to yourself? How did you express gratitude and reciprocity for your life? What are you still holding onto that needs to be released? Are you holding on to grudges and unforgiveness towards yourself and others? Have you been holding on to the idea that you are not (good) enough? Are you willing to open your heart to give and receive love? What are you willing to do to heal from the effects of family and historical trauma? Did you accept loving and appropriate support from others? What do you need to surrender to dream a new dream into existence?
Once you have entered deeply into the practice of introspection and feel complete, begin preparing for a full moon cleansing bath (links given below).
Gather and cook your plantitas with prayer. Fill your bath with water that you have prayed over. Immerse yourself in the medicinal bath that will help you wash away thoughts, ideas, and energies you have collected this year that you are holding onto and that need to be released from your mind and aura. Give permission to your own beautiful, wise spirit and your high holy guardians to help you let go of what is weighing you down and holding you back. Doing so will help create spaciousness in your body, mind, and spirit for new ways of being, of giving, and receiving... as always, we ask for the seeds of new dreams to manifest with ease and grace and that clear guidance be given to us in a way that we will understand.
If you have a trusted cultural practitioner (curandera/o/x), this is an especially good time to schedule a Plática and Limpia so that you can enter 2023 with a lighter spirit.
Con bendiciones de amor, luz, y gratitud,
